November 2011

These last months thinking about Paul Sietsema was part of our daily routine. We tried to catch on to what he was doing, we tried talking to people and we also tried writing some things down when we felt it might make some sense. And we ended up with 32 pages of the second issue of The Federal. Now we're hoping that you will come in and get a copy. There's some worthwhile stuff inside: a text on mothers, scents, intoxication and cross-cultural chemistry by Christopher Fraga; an interview with Christopher Witmore, an American archaeologist, on history outside of human culture, bricks, democracy and symmetry; an interview with Paul Sietsema on his works and thoughts and on using the studio as a boat; Elena Narbutaite's analysis of handbags and coats and some other little things.

You can buy a copy online here.

Otherwise, you can find the publication at:
Archive Kabinett (Berlin),
McNally Jackson Books (NYC),
Motto (Berlin, Zurich),
Tulips & Roses (Brussels).

Or, if you find yourself around Boston, look for Carson Salter.
